Reading, UK, 19 February 2024 — Reading Muslim, a leading community organisation, is thrilled to announce the launch of its new website, designed to enhance user experience and accessibility for its members. The website, built using Next.js and hosted on Vercel, boasts a range of features aimed at serving the needs of the Reading Muslim community.

The new website comes as a result of collaborative efforts within the software development community, with special thanks extended to Tuan Huynh for his enhancements to Timothy Lin's lightweight Next.js & Tailwind boilerplate. Western Pixel adapted the template for Reading Muslim's specific requirements, with plans for ongoing development to ensure it meets the evolving needs of the community.

Key features of the website include:

  • Live Prayer Times: Users can access up-to-date prayer times directly from the website, aiding in their daily worship routines.
  • Monthly Timetables: Monthly timetables provide a convenient overview of prayer times through the month.
  • iCal Calendars: The website offers the functionality to export iCal calendars for local masajid athan (call to prayer) times, with jama'at (congregation) times coming soon, allowing members to sync prayer times with their personal calendars.

In addition to these features, the website incorporates resources from various platforms to enrich the user experience. Emojis sourced from Twemoji, icons from Icons8, images from Unsplash, and illustrations from Storyset contribute to the visual appeal and functionality of the site.

Reading Muslim invites community members to explore the new website and provide feedback for further improvements. Feedback can be submitted via email to info@readingmuslim.uk or by reaching out to the admins on their WhatsApp or Telegram channels.

"We are excited to unveil our new website, which reflects our commitment to serving the needs of the Reading Muslim community," said a spokesperson for Reading Muslim. "We encourage our members to explore the site, utilise its features, and share their feedback to help us continue enhancing their online experience."
