Continuing with Reading’s proud history of protest for justice, Reading Muslim organised a powerful Emergency Rally For Palestine, held on Sunday 29th October 2023, through Reading’s town centre on Broad Street. The event, held on a weekly basis going forward, was attended by over 300 people with diverse backgrounds, both Muslims and non-Muslims. Reading Muslim was founded by Imtiaz Chowdhury & Jubair Khan in 2018, and held discussions with Trustees of Reading Muslim Council since its inception to align and cooperate together. Reading Muslim Council was founded in 1995 and had slowly become less active and engaged over time. The vision, mission and goals of both organisations are largely the same, and merging allows Reading Muslim Council to refreshen the charity’s activities in the area, and provides a legal framework for Reading Muslim.

The prime minister is announcing strict new curbs on life in the UK to tackle the spread of coronavirus. From this evening people must stay at home except for shopping for basic necessities, daily exercise, any medical need and travelling to and from essential work.

BAGR management has decided to safeguard our students and worshippers by suspending all 5 daily prayers and Salat al-Jumu’ah from Isha from 21st March 2020. The masjid will be closed until further notice.

ABM management has taken a very difficult and unprecedented step, with heavy heart, to suspend all congregational services and activities including daily prayers and Jummuah with immediate effect from today (20/03/2020) after Esha. Therefore, after Esha today, the masjid will be closed until further notice.
